Welcome to a website about domesticated Skunks.
This website is to help and support UK skunk owners with the health, care and behaviour of their pet skunks. You can also join us on Facebook.
We now have a new member of the Pet Skunks UK team, Sue Creedy has now joined us and is also my Admin of the Pet Skunks UK Facebook group.
I don’t pretend to know everything about skunks, but I have over 11 years experience with numerous Skunks. I also keep in constant contact with Skunk Breeders, and keep up to date with developments in Skunk Care. If you can't find what you are looking for on this website then feel free to e-mail me and I will do what I can to help and support you.
I am always interested in your feedback, whether it is negative or positive.
If you have any information or content that you feel could be added to the site then please get in touch.
Under the Animal welfare act, It is now illegal to descent skunks in the UK and is considered unethical. So most skunks that are now sold will have their scent glands fully intact.
Having a fully scented skunk is not usually a problem if it has been well socialised as a baby. Skunks will only spray if frightened or threatened, but still this may put some skunk owners off and this must also be taken into consideration before buying a skunk .
It is with great sadness that my skunk Magick has passed onto the Rainbow Bridge he was 9 1/2. Magick was diagnosed with heart failure but he showed such a will to live and fought all the way. He has now left his legacy; if it wasn't for him the website, Facebook group and the skunk shows wouldn't exist and through him we have brought people together from all over the world and helped those who needed it. Magick will be missed by all but never forgotten thanks for the amazing journey Magick I love and miss you
We have been updating the website with the help of Sue Creedy which includes Health, food and diet and a new section on the reality of skunk ownership. You will also find a case study on Magicks heart failure on the health page which I am hoping will help others.
We now have 1657 members on our pet skunks UK facebook group!
